Sneinton Market shone brighter than ever for this year's Light Night

February 14th 2019

Light Night in Sneinton Market was a great success again this year. With hundreds of people flocking in from all over Notts, The Avenues and Sneinton Market Square were heaving with visitors wanting to see what we had in store for them.

Sneinton Market was definitely the place to be last Friday (8 February) for Light Night. The atmosphere was electric as people filled The Avenues and music pounded the cool air. Kicking things off in the City Arts Dome was Northern Soul Sarah, spinning some classics on the decks to get things going. First to take the stage was the quirky band, The Face That Boils Itself followed by UK Young Artists, who provided exciting, visual entertainment with their creative and artistic performances and projections.

Later in the evening, Primal, a top local rock/blues band, provided by the amazing folks of I'm Not From London, filled the dome with their cool music and had guests dancing to their tunes. While the band were playing, people could also admire wonderful work by Maximillian with his surrealist light projections, a show that covered the dome's walls with beautiful visuals.

Mouthwatering foods from numerous street food stalls and thirst-quenching drinks from a variety of bars kept tums filled and warm. There was something for everyone to enjoy and get involved with.

The turnout for this year's Light Night at Sneinton Market was phenomenal! The sea of people that flowed through the area making their way from one activity to the next, the sound of music and cheer and the happy vibes that filled Sneinton Market kept us all warm and happy on that chilly night.

Everyone left feeling good and all those who made the night possible felt a sense of satisfaction as all the hard work put into this night paid off. We can't wait till next year...
