IRMA VEP is the on-going, evolving main vehicle for polymath musician Edwin Stevens. Llanfairfechan's most prolific vagabond has made a series of cracking records as part of groups including Sex Hands, Klaus Kinski, The Birthmarks, Desmadrados Soldados De Ventura, and Yerba Mansa, but it's in his Irma Vep guise that he absolutely comes into his own as a songwriter absolutely committed to mixing sincerity with chaos. His forthcoming album, "Embarrassed Landscape" (on hometown Gringo Records), is perhaps the most vivid depiction yet of his almost dichotomous space jam rock squeezed into pop tunes with self-assured depictions of crushing dread and doubt. There aren't many records out there that bring to mind Richard & Linda Thompson, Bardo Pond, and Country Teasers all at the same time, so you know there's something pretty major going on here. Irma Vep will make you wince and then make you feel elated - all of the highs and all of the lows you need to feel alive, with jams wired enough to equilibrate out at elation.

SOUND OF YELL is the latest project from El Hombre Trajeado co-founder and erstwhile Arab Strap and RM Hubbert collaborator Stevie Jones. An acoustic compendium of fingerstyle guitar, idiosyncratic strings and restless woodwind. Lissom and otherworldly, they mould all-new shapes and textures fusing folk, classical, free jazz and avant-garde impulses to extraordinary effect. Herein lies joy, surprise, harmonic trompe l’oeils, playfulness and a textural mastery. You can find their records on legendary Glasgow label Chemikal Underground and most recently, Light The Currents on Berlin based 10” singles club, Infinite Greyscale.

CRISIS DAD is the accumulated thoughts and musical meanderings of a man going through a self diagnosed midlife crisis. His debut album ‘Burnt Toast’ set for release this summer and recorded at JT Soar is a collection of pop songs reflecting his thoughts on all aspects of our existence. Influenced by perfect pop music structures, repeating synth arpeggios and reverb guitars whilst lyrically obsessed with the endless toil of love, work and modern life, Crisis Dad faces into the world in which we live and the self imposed limits that contain us. For this show additional dads in crisis will join to lovingly recreate the sounds from the forthcoming album. Crisis Dad describes his music as ‘Pop music for the midlife masses’
